Stunning glamping style cabin accommodation on New Zealand’s East Coast.

Be the first in the world to watch the sunrise over the Pacific ocean right in front of you. A leasurly 2 min drive to the most stunning white sand surf beaches of 5 min in the other direction to city centre.

Located a 1 (50m) minute walk through native bush (gumboots advised)

Comfortable bedroom inside the cabin with huge views of farmland and ocean. New double bed and stone washed linen. Fully insulated bedroom with heater.

‘Glamping’ style outdoor fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen area is covered and includes all the cooking essentials plus a bbq in the courtyard.

Sunny stone courtyard adjacent to the kitchen, faces north east. Includes wild flower beds, fresh herb garden, bbq, outdoor fire and picnic table.

A outdoor (covered) lounge area faces east to witness the worlds first sunrise every morning. Roll down blinds around the living area provide some shelter from wind and rain.

Outdoor (covered) bathroom includes a non flushing compost toilet, hot shower with ocean views and bathroom vanity. Toiletries and towels are provided. A outdoor bath is beneath the native bush adjacent to the cabin with views over the farmland and pacific ocean.

Unlimited hot water, heater, fast wifi, electricity connection.

Homemade granola, tea & coffee provided for breakfast.

Guest have access to the entire cabin space and are welcome to walk the surrounding farm land. Guests share a car parking area with our main family home before walking 50m (1min) down through the bush to the cabin. Once there it’s ultimate privacy.

Please be aware, as with all glamping experiences you will be more exposed to the weather. We do all we can make your stay comfortable even on the coolest or hottest days of the year. In winter, warm clothes and appropriate footwear (gumboots!) are key.

We have 2 friendly collie dogs that will likely want to say hello.

We are part of a working farm so the normal farm workings will be going on over the hill side. Being an outdoor living space mosquito and the odd bug is expected. As with all glamping type experiences you’ll be more exposed to the weather. On cold or wet days enjoy a hot chocolate and curl up inside the cabin and watch the dramatic views unfold as the day progresses.

The Retreat has a non flushing compositing toilet.

There is a gas hob, kettle, toaster and cooking essentials in the kitchen but no oven.
